ABOUT OUR RACE
The Dunvegan Castle 10k is a 6.2 mile road race based in Dunvegan on the stunning Island of Skye. It is a mixed terrain surface of main road and good off road trail. The race is run by Skye Events, a new organisation for promoting sports events on the Isle of Skye. The race starts at Dunvegan Castle, one of the worlds most iconic castles and a popular visitor attraction.
The Dunvegan Castle 10k is based in Dunvegan on the stunning Island of Skye. The backdrop to the race is the stunning MacLeods tables, a series of mountains with a unique and beautiful appearance. The race also starts at the iconic Dunvegan Castle, a global tourist attraction.
The Dunvegan Castle 10k race director is Graham Watt who works with Skye Events. Graham has ambitions to grow the event to attract a larger group of runners and enhance the event with refinements each year. For any race specific questions, please email Graham at:
Skye Events are an organisation who aim to manage, develop, promote and enhance sports events around the Isle of Skye. Skye Events have recently taken over the management of the Dunvegan Castle 10k with ambitions to increase the size of the event and also offer more professional services to participants.
The race starts beside the iconic Dunvegan Castle leading towards an off road trail ascending upwards to the summit of the first hill. Once at the trail the race drops down again until it joins the main road from where it is a fast downhill 5k ending through Dunvegan Village and back to the Castle car park. At the finish their will be food and drink as-well as bathroom facilities.
Entry for the Dunvegan Castle 10k this year is on-line via the Sportsystems Entry System. Please click the button below to enter the race. The price for this years event is £15. Their is also a 2K Fun Run available which may be entered on the day for a cost of £8 for adults and £4 per junior Ages 5+ (under 8's must be accompanied by an adult.)
